The Rapture And Things That Can Not Be
The Question Remains Whether to Throw or Not Throw The Church Under The Bus
It is clear that there is much disagreement between the different views on the timing of the Rapture of the church, and there is a vociferous minority that claims that the pre-tribulation is but escapism and desertion, given that most bible students do come to the conclusion that it is a pre/tribulation event. In the last entry we wrote a segment titled "Throwing the Church Under the Bus" and proceeded to give Bible based arguments on the accuracy of that position. Some go to the Feasts of the Lord days and pretend that the Church is under the Law and that it must therefore jump through all the hoops in the feasts, forgetting that the feasts are moeds or dress rehearsals, that represent a typology of that which the Lord Jesus Christ will fulfill at his coming. Paul told us in Col 2:16,17 that these feasts are 'but a shadow of things to come', for the reality is Christ. Others propose a feast of trumpets fulfillment for the Church and also another for Israel, forgetting that the church is Jew and Gentile together and it is not required that it be fulfilled twice in end times. Let us look at some of the pitfalls that some drop into and can not get out of even when we drop them ropes and ladders to climb back out. These seem happy and content to be in the holes they have excavated for themselves.
One Pitfall is that the Lord may return "at any time", in any day, a position that is founded on religious history and church tradition. That the apostles and disciples expected Christ's return in their lifetimes does not mean that it was to be on any day at any time, according to that which is written. We do know the day, for Paul the apostle told us that the church will be removed when the Lord comes to the clouds and by his shouted (trumpet) command the living and the dead of the church will rise to meet him in the air on the day of Christ (1 Thess 4:13-18 and 2 Thess 2:2). If you read the 8 verses given as witnesses that the day of Christ is a day of joy, of rewards, of being found blameless, a day of salvation of the spirit, etc. it would be clear that such a day is not one of judgments or punishments for the church. Furthermore Paul tells us in the same context (2:3) that before the rapture occurs there will be a period of apostasy, when people fall away from the church. So those who are watching ought to be looking to a time of apostasy (hello! how about today?) and for the day of Christ or of Jesus Christ.
And that the day of the Lord is not the same (even if it immediately follows) to the day of Christ is also clear, when Paul again, speaking of the day of the Lord wrote in 1 Thess 5:4 that that day should not overtake the children of the day, the children of light, but it is a day for the children of the darkness which it will overtake as a thief in the night. Therefore the day of Christ or of Jesus Christ connotes a meaning distinct from that of the day of the Lord and some confuse and others obfuscate these meanings. The day of the Lord begins when the times and the seasons arrive (1 Thess 5:1, Dan 2:21, Acts 1:6,7), the beginning of the final hostilities designed to throw Satan out of this world system and replace his kingdom by the kingdom of the Lord Jesus Christ. If you take the time to read these verses you will be in agreement for sure.
Another pitfall is that which accompanies the phrase "the day nor the hour" found in Matt 24:36 and 25:13, the only two places in the Bible where it appears. And it has everything to do to his second coming, not the rapture. You see, when the preconceived notion is that the church is not taken up until the end of the great tribulation and that the Lord's second coming is after the end of all the hostilities, then the conclusion for these is that the day nor the hour applies to the rapture. If one reads carefully, it is addressing his second coming, and it means that it says, that no one knows the (very) day nor the (very) hour when his feet will land on the earth to enter the wedding feast and begin the feast Tabernacles (the day of rest of 1000 years of man). It is not about the rapture! As one reads these two chapters in Matthew it becomes clear that it applies to his actual landing on the earth as king for his kingdom. There is no pre/tribulation context where this phrase is applicable and we ought to stop predicating it as such from the pulpits.
What can be questioned is if we are told in the Bible whether it is written that the rapture is going to occur on a specific feast day and the answer would be, no. But it is known that the feasts were types, designed to be repeated as practice, as dress rehearsals for the day when they would be fulfilled, and the only one who is to fulfill them all is Jesus Christ the Lord. Christ the Lord fulfilled the first three Spring feasts in order, and then Pentecost as well when the church age was inagurated and the Holy Spirit poured out. The Law was given at Pentecost in the Old Testament written in tables of stone and the Spirit was given at Pentecost for the church to have the law written in their hearts in Him. It is expected of Jesus Christ to fulfill the last three Fall feasts as well, and in the order in which they were established. Therefore next in line is the fulfillment of the feast of Trumpets, a feast of the new moon for which the exact date could not be determined but by observation, by watching for the beginning of the new moon. What are to told to do? To watch, watch, watch, as I wrote before, and also are to await for the shout and voice of the archangel and trump of God to leave and go to the Lord in the clouds. The last trumpet of the Feast, the Tekia Godolah, is the type of the trump of God, the last of the three voices in the rapture event (1 Thess 4:16).
So much is written on the Feasts of the Lord that is excellent and detailed that I would give out many references to visit but will limit the recomendations to these which are very good:

And in the entry in this website on "Throwing the Church Under the Bus" it is argued that the wonders in heaven (red moon tetrad and two solar eclipses/blackouts) are that written in Scripture in Joel 2:30, because these are to occur before the day of the Lord and in no way can that be reconciled to Matthew 24:29 when the signs in the sky are to occur after the tribulation of those days, for this day of the Lord's judgment is a tribulational process, not an after one. In addition to all these, there is the exactness of the days of the Tribulation as the calendars are reconciled and the week of the tribulation that satisfies all the prophecies, from Trumpets 5777 to Day of Atonement 5783. Others claim that their numbers match but I have seen their system of computation and foundations for these and they are lacking (faulty to the hilt). Try fitting in the reconciled numbers in a year between the Gregorian and the Lunar calendar and see if you go nuts first or if you find another permutation that satisfies all requirements.
By the very words of Jesus Christ when the disciples were asking him, on the day of his ascension, 40 days after his resurrection whether this was the time to restore the kingdom to Israel, the Davidic Kingdom by the rule of the Messiah, and these are his very words:
6 When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?
7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.
The question was about the time to restore the kingdom to Israel, that is, remove the Devil from this world and begin the kingdom of our Lord. It is not about the day nor the hour phrase, but it is about what? The times or the seasons, again the beginning of the hostilities to evict the Devil and his system forever. The Lord Jesus Christ is equating the times and the seasons to the time of restoration of the kingdom to Israel. And Paul likewise (1 Thess 5:1,2) equates the times and the seasons to the day of the Lord, meaning that the day of the Lord is the time to evict the Devil and his system forever. If a=b and b=c then a=c. Not much argument here. And if the day of the Lord is not for the children of light but for those children of the darkness and the day of Lord (that day) would not affect the Thessalonian church, then they may just have been taken up as the chapter before (1 Thess 4:13-18) had described as the rapture. Noticed that I have gone about another way to prove to the naysayers that the rapture is a pre/tribulation event and have avoided bringing up the standard texts used additionally to make the case, such as Rom 5:9, 1 Thess 1:10, 5:9, 2 Thess 1:7 2:1, Rev 3:10, 4:1 and the absence of the Church from Rev 6 to 19. Check your translation and if it does not say King James Bible you will not get it right, especially if your bible is a paraphrase or has a good deal of 'dynamic equivalency' (another sophisticated term to mean a paraphrase in actuality).
What has made it possible to set the time on this clock right I believe are the wonders revealed in heaven that are not written in holy writ but shown visibly to us. And why is the fourth red moon a supermoon on Sept 28, 2015? Could it be that it predicts the GogMagog victory of the Lord, as recorded in Ezekiel 38,39? Is the GogMagog war a type of Armageddon such that these wars are two book ends to the Tribulation? Yes, God is still speaking and is in control, and uses all the means available that he Himself has created to achieve the victory, God's way and that which he has in store for us is marvellous so that we can not wait.
Reviewing the Highlights.
The rapture will happen on a day called the day of Christ.
The day of Christ is a day of rewards and joy for the church.
The times and the seasons is the beginning of the end for the kingdom of the Devil.
The times and the seasons is equated to the beginnning of the day of the Lord.
The day of the Lord is a day of God of 1000 years, that begins with hostilities and judgments.
The period of judgment time of the day of the Lord is called the Tribulation.
'That day', the day of the Lord will not overtake the church as a thief in the night.
The day of the Lord is not a single day but a season or campaign for Satan's eviction.
The church will be physically saved from the day of the Lord.
The Lord Jesus Christ will fulfill the fall feasts in order as he fulfilled the other feasts before.
The exact date for the rapture on the day of Christ is not written nor uncovered in the Bible.
The type of the feast of Trumpets figures the coming of Jesus Christ for his bride.
The rapture is to come during a period of apostasy, a falling away from the church.
The apostles expected the rapture in their lifetimes but not in any day or time.
God has commanded us to watch, for God speaks too by the signs in the skies.
God said he would shew wonders in the heavens before the day of the Lord (Joel 2:30) starts.
The present red moons tetrad and solar eclipses are considered the sign of the times.
This sign of the times portents the tribulation as a time that follows the signs in the skies.
The reconciled lunar calendar, the Jewish years 5777-5783 fits perfectly the day of the Lord.
Jewish years are used because Sept 13, 2015 is the first day of year 5777 (RH), adjusted.
Counted from Tumpets to day of Atonement 7 years later is exactly 2550 days.
God said the Tribulation would last 1260 plus 1260 days plus 30 day, that is 2550 days.
The 70th or last week of the 70 weeks prophecy is 7 x 360 days or 2520 days.
The 70th week is divided into two equal periods of 1260 days each and total 2520 days.
The first period is the rule of the one world religion over the nwo by the harlot of Babylon.
The harlot of Babylon is called Jezebel in Rev. 2:20 as her personal name.
The harlot of Babylon self describes her as a goddess (7 letters as well) and is in Is. 47.
Daniel was told the 30 additional days were to set up the Abomination of Desolation (12:11).
Trumpets (Rosh Hashannah) is the head of the year, thus the day of the rapture of the church.
The 70th Week of Daniel begins with the confirming of a covenant by antichrist with many.
Antichrist will brake the covenant at the Ab. of Desolation, the midpoint of the tribulation.
Antichrist uses blasphemy, the act of usurping for himself a title he does not deserve.
Antichrist claims to be that which he is not: god. His personal name is Abaddon (7 letters).
Antichrist claims to be a personage, the saviour or messiah (7 letters), a name of blasphemy.
The argument (to follow) that the covenant will be confirmed at the defeat of GogMagog.
GogMagog will be a event of the Tribulation that precedes the formal 70th week of Daniel.
The antichrist will be on the world stage when the restrainer, the hinderer is taken out.
The restrainer is not taken away but out of the way for the loosing of the antichrist.
The restrainer is the Holy Spirit that witholdeth the mystery of iniquity or of lawlessness.
Where Does GogMagog Fit In?
GogMagog is a war of confederated nations that come against the mountains of Israel, and involves non-Arab Islamic Nations that God himself will defeat with supernatural judgments. It is found in Ezekiel 38 and 39. It is not the war of Armageddon where God will gather all nations of the world (Joel 3:2) not just some, against Israel for in that nation all the heathen of the world will find their defeat. It is a war by which God will make his holy name known in the midst of his people Israel and the heathen shall know that he is "I AM" the Lord, the Holy One of Israel (Ez 39:7). He will set his glory so that the heathen may see the judgment he is executing by his own hand (Ez 39:21) and so that the house of Israel shall know that the Lord their God is the 'I AM' from that day and forward (*Ez 39:22). Who is the house of Israel? Paul said it well, that "they are not all Israel that are of Israel" (Rom 9:6), for Israel are "the remnant according to the election of grace" (Rom 11:5, 9:27).
This war can not either be Armageddon for in the Ez 38/39 confrontation, the leader is Gog and he falls to his death in the open field, upon the mountains (Ez 39:4,5), and find a place there of graves in Israel (Ez 39:11) to be buried, in that day. Antichrist is the leader against God in Armageddon, and will be taken alive with the False Prophet and thrown into the Lake of Fire (Rev 19:20). In GogMagog Israel will be a land of unwalled villages for prior to this war they have achieved victory against yet a previous confederacy of Arab Muslim nations (Ps 83, Is 17) and have enlarged their borders, gaining riches as well. All combatants against Israel will be killed by the sword from the mouth of the Lord in Armageddon but in GogMagog one six (1/6) will be turned back to their nations to tell about the victory of the Lord against them (Ez 39:2). But does the Lord say in Scripture when this is to happen? Yes he does, for this will occur in that day when my people dwelleth safely (Ez 38:14) that he will bring a shaking in the land of Israel (38:19). The short phrase, in that day, is code word for the day of the Lord. 8 Behold, it is come, and it is done, saith the Lord God; this is the day whereof I have spoken (Ez 39:8). Throughout Scripture, the Lord has spoken of in that day, when the day of the Lord is spoken of. This is not to be confused with "in the latter years" (Ez 38:8) which is a reference to the time after the rapture and in the day of the Lord. Nor is it to be confused to the expression latter days, which again signifies the days (years) of the time of the tribulation (Ez 38:16).
Thus we are told that the GogMagog war is to take place during the day of the Lord, at the start of the Tribulation, which begins after that the church has been taken home to the Father's house. It is written in these two chapters in Ezekiel that Israel will be able to burn the weapons of the attacking enemies for 7 years as a source of fuel (39:9,10), meaning then that the hostilities of this war must begin immediately after that Tribulation has begun in the day of the Lord. And this fury and wrath of God against Gog we anticipate will fall on the Day of Atonement, the same as we anticipate that Armageddon will fall on the Day of Atonement 7 years later, when in the feasts of the Lord the sentence and punishment fell on the scapegoat, as would be fitting. This argues for the day of the Lord starting right after that the rapture is completed that occurs in the twinkling of an eye, when the Tribulation explodes and when people are clamoring for 'peace and safety' and instead get 'sudden destruction' (1 Thess 5:3). The day of the Lord starts as the antichrist is loose having the Holy Spirit step aside to allow the mystery of iniquity to run free on the feast of Trumpets, giving way to the Tribulation. And a mere 10 days latter, the Ezekiel confederacy is defeated, Gog is buried and the covenant with many ( a non specified 'many') is confirmed. This will begin the final week of the 70 weeks of Daniel's prophecy and allow for the full 7 years for Israel burning the weapons of the assailing attackers.
Having established this foundation, can the supermoon that is coming be a sign of the supernatural work of God in defeating Gog in the Magog confederacy? Since the prohecies are for two back to back Muslim confederacies defeats, can Islam have a shread of a possibility of surviving? Will Mohamedans follow a soundly defeated god? We shall see, won't we? Has any due prophecy of the Bible ever been wrong?
The Great Tribulation Period.
Some want to deny that the Tribulation is a time of judgments and that these span the entire 7 years period, calling the first half a time of peace (or the wrath of the devil) and using the word 'tribulation' to connote the wrath of God. But what did Jesus say? When his disciples asked him about the times of the end for Israel in Matthew 24, Jesus presented two periods of time. The first he called the beginning of sorrows (24:8) and said to follow "then" they shall deliver you up to be afflicted..(24:9). Affliction is another term for tribulation or persecution, which will to occur then. When? For Israel there will be two distinct periods as just said, the former will be more bening for them than for the rest of the world. But the latter he called 'great tribulation' or the period of the birth pangs (the time of Jacob's trouble) that will be the worst the earth and Israel have ever seen. The Devil will seek to destroy them, the remant (Rev 12:17), for Jesus Christ the Lord will not come till the remnant call upon their Messiah (Matt 23:39) to come to save them. Satan will not want his return so that he seeks the death of all Jews and in particular the remnant, in order to remove his neck from the chopping block (so to speak).
One major reason is the denial, perhaps unthinkingly, of God's authority over the demonic world and perceive this end time battles as God vs. a fierce force in his opponent the Devil. But the Devil too is under subjection to the Lord and so are all the fallen angelic hosts and the demons of the earth. There are demonic forces that most seem to want to explain away as something else, even superhumans,or wild beasts, that are under the command of God and must do his bidding, and God uses them as his army as proven in the Scripture.
But first, in order to get the picture clearer in the mind, it must be realized that Israel is under chastisement, presently being partially in the land in unbelief, and being ruled by many who call themselves Jews but are not, and blaspheme (Rev 2:9, 3:9), for these are of the synagogue of Satan. When Daniel prayed for his people and the conclusion of their curse, he was made to know future things, as God conveyed to him: 24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. These 6 things God was to bring about for his people Israel and his holy city Jerusalem, but in order to do that he first had to break their will, their stiffneck disposition: How long shall it be to the end of these wonders? 7 And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished. (Daniel 12:6c, 7).
Israel has to be first chastised of the Lord as we were told in Isaiah and in Ezekiel as well as in Zechariah, but chastised in measure (Isaiah 27:8), when they have borne their shame (Ez 39:26), for having rejected their Messiah the first time he came (Zech 9:1-14). But in total two parts will be cut off and a third part will the Lord bring through the fire (Zech 12:8,9). Once understood that those in Israel are to be first punished before redemption comes, then it is more logically understood the great tribulation as seen in Joel 2. This chapter is the foundation of the same theme in the book of the Revelation, when an army invades the nation Israel and they are told to blow the trumpet and sound an alarm (call God!) because an invading army so strong as has never been seen not will there be has invaded them. These soldiers are so well trained that they do not break rank not fight each other and if they fall on their swords they are not hurt. How can that be? It can be because these are an army of demons and this very army is an army of the Lord (Joel 2:11, 25) who must obey the will of God. These will be going not against the remnant that are to be protected in the wilderness by the Lord (Rev 12:12) when the antichrist and the Devil come to the land of Israel with the intent to destroy the Jews for 1260 days. And this is called the day of the Lord (Joel 2:11) and are told that if they turn to the Lord their God, if they repent, then the Lord will deliver them (2:19, 20) from this northern army or king of the north, restore their land, confirm that he is their God and pour his Spirit over them (Joel 2:28,29 as well as Zech 12:10, 14:8 and Ez 39:29). The remnant will have the Spirit poured over them in order to enter the Millennial kingdom as the church had the Spirit poured on her on the day of Pentecost.
And Joel 3 is a view of events of the restoration of Israel as God first brings her enemies to the valley of Jehoshafat for the battle of Armageddon, the war in the valley of decision where all the heathen are gathered. Israel after her final regathering will be restored, and Judah will be forever as well as Jerusalem from there on. So then Joel 2 and 3 are chapters that describe Israel during the time of the great tribulation, giving us a picture of the very activities that are transpiring in the Jewish land. But if you were to ask why bring up the great tribulation period then I would answer, to give you a bird's eye view all the way to the end, to the end of the hostilities that finalize on the great war of Armageddon and its worldwide effects. See how neatly God has woven his story when he teaches us now that written in Matthew 24:29 and after. What happens after? That in the midst of all the post war darkness, the sign of the Son of man will be seen in the sky as he returns to earth in great glory and the world will see him. The children of Israel from every tribe will be gathered from all the 4 corners of heaven and earth and brought to their land and having been delivered they still have the free will to accept the one coming in the clouds, visibly, with pierced hands and feet. You see, all of the remnant, as do all believers, will have to come to trust in Jesus Christ the Lord and Son of God, for every knee shall bow to him.
As of the feasts of the Lord, Trumpets is judgment, it is followed by the 9 days of awe or of mourning, then next is the day of Atonement of the grace of deliverance, and five days later is Tabernacles or rest in the Lord. What of the five days? The five days are the period of time God gives free will people room to chose to enter into his grace, or chose to reject it. The parable of the virgins without oil teach that some may not have the Holy Spirit when the Bridegroom enters into the marriage feast, and are left out, not having received the Lord as their saviour.
But what does this have to do with the timeline? If we have argued from the beginning about the start of the Tribulation and its duration, about the meaning of the term 'the day of the Lord' and about the timed events of the 70th week of Daniel, and if one looks at how things end, then we can begin to fit in the parts of the puzzle that are missing. The day and the hour (Matt 24:36, 42, 44, 50 25:13) refers to the Lord's downing his feet on the earth when he comes in the clouds to enter the marriage feast. No one knows what day of the five he will land and no one knows at what hour of the day he will do so and begin to be king over all the earth (Zech 14:9), thus all must watch for his coming. Note that this has no reference whatsoever to the rapture or day of departure of the church. The many parts of the puzzle left are going to be filled by reviewing that written in the most eschatological books, Daniel and Revelation.
First, let us recruit Daniel 12:11. We are told in this verse that there will be a total of 1290 days from the time that the daily tribulation temple sacrifices are stopped when the Abomination of desolation occurs and the very end of the 70th week. The Abomination of desolation is known to occur at the middle of the 70th week, when there the antichrist takes over the new world order, and the very event that should send all the Judean Jews running to hide, to the mountains (Matt 24:15) of Israel to reach safety. Note that we are told also that then a new image will be raised, an image of the antichrist person, the be worshipped (Rev 13:14,15) for he will rule for 1260 days. The additional 30 days is the time required to take over the temple, stop the Jews' sacrificial system and institute antichrist worship. It is also evident that in happens in the very middle of the final demise of the one world false religion as announced, "Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city...."(Rev 14:8). This is the transition period that switches the ruler over the new world order, from the Harlot of Babylon to the rule of the antichrist. The harlot is represented by the 7th head of the beast that suffers a deadly wound (the death of Babylon, the goddess rule) in Rev. 13:3 but antichrist manages to bring the new world order back to life under his own authority as explained in Rev. 17:11, for " even he is the eighth (the eighth ruler) and is of the seven.. (of the seven heads)" . This 30 days extra are tacked on to his time of rule and it is not to the time of the rule of the harlot.
Yet another clue from Daniel, this time 12:12. In this verse there are an additional 45 days added that the Scripture clearly does not account for or say exactly what it is, and yet we are not in the dark. We covered above that there are five days between the feasts of the day of Atonement (the time of redemption, deliverance) and the feast of Tabernacles, a time of grace given to freely chose to go with Messiah the king, the crucified One, or to reject him. The unwise 5 virgins of the parable of Matt 25 who had no oil (lacked the Holy Spirit), warns that to reject him is to condemn oneself and be left out of his marriage feast, of entering into his rest, a time of peace for the soul, out of the Messianic kingdom. It is possible for that to happen or the warning would not have been given in holy writ. And what then of the 40 days? Bible students know all about the 40 days time, for it represents a time of trials, of testing, as depicted in Matthew 25, when the parable of the man going into a far land is given, speaking of the fruit of his servants in his absence. It also speaks of the judgment of the sheep and the goats, the former find favor with the Lord and the latter are condemned unto everlasting punishment (Matt 25:46). These 5 plus 40 are the 45 days added to finalize the participation into the blessings of tabernacling with God in Jesus Christ in the Millennium.
This study is invigorating spiritually and hopefully it is capable of wetting the thirst for God's word in those who chose to drink it and test it. Yet another installment more will be added to get closer to putting the final touches on the times of the end that are just coming upon us. Those that do not know nor take the time and are left behind will have to deal with beasts (demons) and such evilness as a mind can not conceive nor dream of as being possible. Tell others, will you? End
